Notes on age relaxation:
The relaxation in upper age limit to SC / ST / OBC candidates is allowed on cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned in Points 2.3 (iii) to 2.3 (v).
Candidates claiming relaxation under 2.3 (i to iii) should enclose necessary certificate as documentary proof.
Eligibility
Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be either: (i) a Citizen of India, or (ii) a subject of Nepal, or (iii) a subject of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. A candidate belonging to categories (ii) to (v) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualification (Cut-off 06 June 2026)
Regular Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University / Institute or any equivalent qualifications recognised as such by the Central Government.
The apprentice should be proficient in local language (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Understanding) of the State / UT. The apprentice should produce 8th / 10th / 12th or Graduate Level standard marksheet / certificate evidencing having studied one of the languages as local language.
Students who have completed Post Graduate qualification are NOT eligible for Apprenticeship training.
Students with work experience of one year or more are NOT eligible to apply.
Candidates should NOT have completed five years after passing qualifying examination.
Calculation of Percentage
Educational qualifications must be from a recognised University / Institute / Board recognised by Govt. of India / approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies. Proper document from Board / University / Regulatory Body must be submitted at the time of application / interview / as called for by the Bank.
The date of passing the examination, appearing on the consolidated marksheet / provisional certificate issued by the University / Institute, is reckoned for eligibility.
Candidates should indicate the percentage obtained in HSC and Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals; CGPA / OGPA must be converted into percentage.
Percentage of marks = Total marks obtained in all subjects (all semesters / years) divided by aggregate maximum marks, multiplied by 100. Fraction of percentage is ignored: 59.99% is treated as less than 60% and 54.99% is treated as less than 55%.
Reservations
Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / EWS candidates is provided as per Government guidelines. Candidates belonging to and applying under "reserved SC / ST / OBC category" or claiming reservation under EWS are required to submit a certificate regarding his / her Community OR EWS status in the prescribed format "FORM OF CERTIFICATE TO BE PRODUCED BY OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES AND ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION APPLICANTS APPLYING FOR APPOINTMENT TO POSTS UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA". SC / ST and the OBC certificate should contain the Non-Creamy Layer Clause which is not more than one year old; EWS certificate should be issued for the financial year prior to the year of application.
Competent Authority for SC / ST / OBC / EWS certificates: District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / First Class Stipendiary Magistrate / City Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate (not below the rank of First Class Stipendiary Magistrate) / Taluk Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner; Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate; Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar; Sub-divisional officer of the area where the candidate or family normally resides.
Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities
Under Section 34 of "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016", persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation in the following categories:
a. Visually Impairment (VI) - includes Blindness and low vision.
b. Hearing Impaired (HI) - includes Deaf and Hard of hearing.
c. Orthopedically Challenged (OC) - includes Locomotor Disability (One arm-OA, One Leg-OL, Both Leg-BL, One Arm and One Leg-OAL), cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.
d. Intellectual Disability (ID) - includes intellectual disability (Autism Spectrum Disorder, specific learning disability and mental illness).
e. Multiple Disabilities (MD) - disability amongst clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disability.
Authorized certifying authority is the Medical Board of the District level consisting of Chief Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer and an Orthopedic / Ophthalmic / ENT Surgeon. Only persons with 'Permanent Benchmark Disability' (not less than 40%) are eligible for reservation. Reservation for PWBD is on horizontal basis and the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category (SC / ST / OBC / Unreserved) to which they belong.

Selection Process
Final selection is subject to verification of eligibility and information furnished in the online application, and is based on Merit per HSC / 10+2 marks.
Candidates have to furnish their selected state and district in the application itself.
Merit List will be drawn State-wise, District-wise and Category-wise.
Candidates that qualify the minimum eligibility criteria will be placed according to their 10+2 marks in descending order in respective Category, State and District.
In case more than one candidate scores same marks as cut-off marks in the merit list, such candidates will be ranked in the Merit List according to their Age in descending order (older candidate ranked higher) in respective category, state and district.

Conduct and Discipline
If the Apprentice is found to have committed an offence involving moral turpitude or any act subversive of good conduct and discipline like insubordination, gross negligence, corruption, fraud, forgery, misappropriation, incurring excessive debts, commission of any act prejudicial to or in conflict with the interests of the Bank, the Apprentice will be liable to be dismissed without notice. Strict action will also be taken against apprentices implicated in criminal cases, indulging in substance abuse or indulging in sexual harassment.
Obligation and Code of Conduct for Apprentices
a. The Apprentice is only a trainee and not a worker - hence no right to claim employment, and Bank has no obligation to provide employment. Apprentice will only be paid monthly stipend.
b. Learn the field conscientiously and diligently at the place of training.
c. Attend practical and instructional classes regularly.
d. Abide by the rules and regulations of the Bank in all matters of conduct, discipline and safety; carry out lawful orders.
e. Maintain records of work as prescribed.
f. Maintain discipline and not bring disrepute to the Bank's image.
g. Associate with the Bank's marketing and promotional activities.
h. Not disclose to any unauthorised person, or misuse, any information (financial, data, concepts, internal communications) relating to the Bank.
i. Non-adherence or non-acceptance of offer will be treated as the candidate not being willing to join; wait-listed candidates shall be invited to join the Bank.
Termination of Contract
The contract of apprenticeship shall terminate on expiry of the 12 months training period.
Non-performing apprentice will be given 7 days' notice to justify his / her response; satisfaction of response is under consideration by the concerned Zonal Manager.
If the apprentice desires to terminate the contract before expiry of the training period, he / she must give the Bank 15 days' prior notice.
In all matters of conduct and discipline, the apprentice shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the Bank as per Apprenticeship Act.
Other Conditions
a. Every apprentice is a trainee and not a worker; provisions of labour law do not apply.
b. Other terms and conditions are as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended.
c. Candidates who had training or job experience of one or more years after completion of educational qualifications shall not be eligible.
d. Bank is NOT obligated to offer employment after completion of apprenticeship; apprentice is NOT obligated to accept employment.
e. The apprentice has NO right to claim employment in the Bank after completion of training.
f. The Contract of Apprenticeship is terminated if the apprentice does not report at the Bank's training venue / branch on the date of commencement of On-Job-Training. The contract automatically terminates on expiry of the period of Apprenticeship Training.
g. Bank can terminate the contract due to misconduct, with notice mentioning the reason.

Payment of Fees
Payment of requisite fees / intimation charges can be made through the ONLINE mode only.
Cash, Cheques, Money Orders, Postal Stamps etc. will NOT be accepted.
Once the application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn and the fees once paid will NOT be refunded on any account.
Important Point

Open the latest notification dated 21 May 2026 - "Engagement of Apprentices in the Bank".
Verify your eligibility - graduation from a recognised University, age 20-28 years on 1 May 2026, no PG qualification, no work experience of 1 year or more, not more than 5 years since passing the qualifying examination, local-language certificate available.
Click on the apply link and create a fresh registration with your valid personal email ID and mobile number.
Fill the online application with your name (exactly as in certificates / Aadhaar), father / husband's name, date of birth (matching SSC), state and district choice, category, qualification details with percentage to two decimals, NATS Enrolment ID and other particulars.
Upload a scanned photograph (.jpg / .jpeg), scanned signature and scanned thumb impression. Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS is NOT acceptable.
Capture and upload a live photograph using webcam or mobile phone.
Upload the hand-written declaration in the prescribed text.
Review the entire application carefully - the Bank does not entertain requests for change of address / email / phone / caste / category later.
Submit the application and pay the application fee online - Rs. 100 (SC / ST / PWD) or Rs. 200 (General / EWS / OBC) plus taxes and gateway charges. Cash, cheque, money order, postal stamps are NOT accepted.
Take a printout of the system-generated online application form and keep it for future reference and document verification.
Track the Bank's website https://punjabandsind.bank.in/ regularly for the shortlist of candidates called for Document Verification - the list is also intimated by email to the address furnished in the Application Form.
Documents to be Produced at Document Verification
While appearing for Document Verification and Joining, candidates must bring original documents along with self-attested copies:
Xth / Date of Birth certificate in support of Date of Birth
Printout of application form
Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the Authorities as notified by the Government of India in the prescribed format (for EWS category candidates)
Age relaxation certificate with valid proofs (if claiming relaxation)
All Certificates and testimonials of Educational Qualification and other Certifications from Standard Xth, XII and Graduation
Appropriate Certificate(s) in support of Caste / Category / Disability (if applicable). OBC caste certificate must contain the Non-Creamy Layer clause valid as on date of joining, issued within one year prior to date of joining; OBC Caste Name should tally letter by letter with the Central Government list / notification; valid EWS certificate
Disability certificate in prescribed format issued by the District Medical Board (for PWBD candidates)
Candidates eligible for age relaxation under 2.3 (v) must produce a certificate from the District Magistrate that they are eligible for relief in terms of the Rehabilitation Package for 1984 Riot Affected Persons sanctioned by the Government and communicated vide Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Financial Services communication No. F.No.9/21/2006-IR dated 27.07.2007

NO document should be directly sent to the Bank before or after the process.
Identity Verification
At the time of document verification, the application along with a photocopy of the candidate's photo identity (bearing exactly the same name as it appears on the call letter) such as PAN Card / Passport / Permanent Driving Licence / Voter's Card / Bank Passbook with photograph / Photo identity proof issued by Gazetted Officer / People's Representative along with a photograph / Identity Card issued by a recognised College / University / Aadhaar card / E-Aadhaar card with a photograph / Employee ID should be submitted to the invigilator for verification.
Ration Card and Learners Driving License are NOT accepted as valid ID proof for this project. In case of candidates who have changed their name, they will be allowed only if they produce original Gazette notification / their original marriage certificate / affidavit in original.
General Instructions and Conditions
Bank reserves the right to reject the candidature of any candidate at any stage of the recruitment process if found ineligible / furnishing incorrect or false information / suppressing material facts. Fees paid by ineligible candidates shall be forfeited.
Bank reserves its right to change / add / cancel the selection process & re-schedule at its discretion. Change, if any, will be announced on the Bank's website or by email.
Bank reserves the right to cancel the entire process without giving any reason / notice / intimation / refund of application fee.
Decision of Bank in all matters regarding eligibility, documents to be produced for verification and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding.
If a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and / or has furnished any incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his / her candidature stands cancelled. If detected after training commences, the apprenticeship is liable to be terminated.
Candidates must produce originals of all Educational Qualification Certificates, Mark Sheets and Experience Certificate(s) at document verification.
Date of birth as per Secondary School Certificate (SSC) / School leaving certificate must confirm age eligibility.
An application form not accompanied by relevant uploaded documents or not bearing the candidate's photograph at the specified place or incomplete in any respect will not be entertained.
A recent, recognisable colour passport-size photograph must be uploaded at the appropriate place and signed across by the candidate on printing.
No request for change of address / email / phone number / caste / category will be entertained.
Selected candidates appear for document verification at their own expense.
Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts at Delhi.
Bank takes no responsibility for any certificate / remittance sent separately.
In case of any dispute arising on account of interpretation in version other than English, the English version will prevail.
Only candidates short-listed for the further process will be intimated by email. The final list of shortlisted candidates is hosted on the Bank's Website https://punjabandsind.bank.in/.
Training of shortlisted candidates is subject to being declared medically fit as per the Bank's requirement.

Action against Candidates Found Guilty of Misconduct
Candidates should not furnish particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated and should not suppress any material information. If a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of -
a. Using unfair means during the selection procedure, or
b. Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person or resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his / her candidature for selection, or
c. Obtaining support for his / her candidature by unfair means,
such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself / herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable:
To be disqualified from the process for which he / she is a candidate.
To be debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any examination or recruitment or internship or apprenticeship conducted by Punjab and Sind Bank.
For termination of apprenticeship, if he / she has already joined the Bank.
Disclaimer
Instances of providing incorrect information and / or process violation by a candidate detected at any stage of the selection will lead to disqualification of the candidate from the selection and he / she will not be allowed to appear in any of the Punjab and Sind Bank recruitment processes in the future.
