Eligibility
Candidates must hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCTVT in one of the following trades at the Skilled level:
- AOCP (Attendant Operator Chemical Plant) - Priority trade
- Feeder Trades: IMCP, MMCP, LACP, PPO, Fitter General, Machinist, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Boiler Attendant, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
Priority order for engagement:
- AOCP Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Factories and Government/Private Organisations with Government affiliation
- Other Feeder Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Factories and Government/Private Organisations with Government affiliation
- Candidates from feeder trades possessing a DBW trade training completion certificate issued by Ordnance Factories under MIL during previous engagement
Note: PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) candidates are not eligible for this post.

Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on NCTVT (NAC) marks. The cut-off percentage for calling candidates for the Trade Test will be decided by OFC Chanda based on total marks secured in NCTVT.
- Trade Test / Practical Test.
- Merit list prepared on the basis of combined marks: NCTVT (NAC) Exam carries 80% weightage and Trade Test / Practical Test carries 20% weightage.
- Document Verification for candidates who qualify, limited to the number of posts notified (discipline and category-wise).
Tie-breaking order: (i) Ex-Trade Apprentice of OFC Chanda, (ii) Ex-Trade Apprentice of other Ordnance Factories, (iii) Higher marks in NCTVT (now NCVT), (iv) Date of Birth (older candidate preferred).
Remuneration and Benefits
- Pay at 1/30th of basic pay per day (Rs.19,900 Basic + Central DA as prevalent) for 8 hours of work.
- Annual increment of 3% (rounded to next ten rupees) on Basic Pay, subject to satisfactory performance.
- House Rent Allowance as per city classification (Company Quarters allotted where available; license fee deducted).
- Risk Allowance at par with regular employees for similar type of work.
- Night Duty Allowance at par with regular employees if deployed in night shift for production exigency.
- 30 days leave per year (2.5 days per calendar month); accumulated up to 30 days, encashable after one year.
- EPF coverage and entitlement under the Employees' Compensation Act, 1923.
- Bonus as per Bonus Act 1965 (if applicable).
- Company Quarters wherever available (license fee deducted).
- Maternity Benefits for female personnel as per the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
- Safety and protective gear as per company norms.
Tenure-based personnel are NOT entitled to: Promotions, OT Allowance, Loans and Advances, Medical Facilities (hospital), Contingency Advance, School Fee Reimbursement, LTC/LTA, Study Leave, Sponsorship for Higher Studies, or other benefits applicable to regular workmen.
The engagement is on a full-time basis. Tenure ends automatically at four years without further notice. There is no right to claim regular employee status.
