What is ECG?
An ECG Technician is a healthcare professional who performs ECG (electrocardiogram) tests to check how a patient’s heart is functioning.
Main Responsibilities:
Attach electrodes (small pads) to patient’s chest, arms, and legs
Operate ECG machines to record heart activity
Monitor heart signals and ensure proper readings
Assist doctors in diagnosing heart problems
Maintain and clean ECG equipment
Sometimes perform:
Stress tests (TMT)
Holter monitoring (24-hour ECG)
Qualification Required (India)
To become an ECG Technician, you typically need:
Diploma in ECG Technology (1–2 years)
ORCertificate course (6 months – 1 year)
ORAllied health science courses (like DMLT)
