Radiochemical Research and Chemical Quality Control (CQC) for Nuclear Fuels and Reactor Materials
Research Projects 1 to 5 fall under this theme. Details are as follows:
Project 1 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: PhD in Chemical Science, Physical Science or Polymer Science with experience in polymer composite synthesis; Mathematics at UG level compulsory. Field of work: Investigation of ion conduction mechanism in solid polymer electrolytes using broadband dielectric and positron annihilation spectroscopy. Duration: Upto 30.06.2029 or maximum 3 years, whichever is earlier. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 2 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. Field of work: Computational studies on electrochemical and spectroscopic behaviour of actinide complexes. Duration: Upto 30.06.2029 or maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 3 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences with expertise in multidentate ligand synthesis. Field of work: Functionalized nanoparticles with new chromophoric ligands for cloud point extraction (CPE) for quantification of ultra trace level metal ions. Duration: Upto 30.06.2029 or maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 4 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical Science; experience in electrochemistry preferred. Field of work: Electrochemical investigation of High-Temperature Indian Molten Salt Reactor Fuels, Design, Transport Properties and Modelling (IMSR project). Duration: Upto 30.06.2029 or maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 5 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences; thermo-physical property evaluation experience preferred. Field of work: Studies into thermophysical and structural characteristics of nuclear materials. Duration: Upto 30.06.2029 or maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Development of Laser, Plasma, Electron Beam Technologies and their Applications
Research Projects 6 to 12 fall under this theme.
Project 6 - Requirement: 2 RAs. Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field with focus on materials science, oxidation processes or corrosion. Field of work: R&D of rare earth/lanthanide metal evaporation and oxidation processes (experimental design, materials characterisation, thermodynamic analysis, materials testing). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 7(a) - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics/Bio-physics. Field of work: Laser assisted surface modification of bio-implant materials and characterisation (laser sintering, thin film coating, biocompatibility, osseointegration). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 7(b) - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry. Field of work: Fluorescence spectroscopy, supramolecular host-guest chemistry, bioanalyte sensing (development of fluorescence-based bioanalyte sensing systems using organic dyes). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 8 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: PhD in thermal plasma (Physics). Field of work: Thermal Spray Coating Development and Characterization (plasma spray coating of metallic and ceramic materials). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 9 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics in the area of Plasma/Electromagnetic design and simulation using Multiphysics software/CFD/material science. Field of work: High power air plasma thermal torch experiment and simulation (physical and numerical models of high-power air plasma thermal torches, electrode performance evaluation). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 10 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: PhD in Physics; experience in RF and electromagnetics with programming knowledge preferred. Field of work: Design of magnets, RF devices for particle accelerator (electron accelerator development for societal and industrial applications, COMSOL/CST Microwave Studio simulations). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 11 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics; experience in Laser Spectroscopy preferred. Field of work: Laser spectroscopy for atomic/plasma characterization (pulsed/CW laser experiments for lanthanide and element characterisation, RIMS, LIBS, fluorescence spectroscopy). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.
Project 12 - Requirement: 1 RA. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics. Field of work: Development of a highly stable narrow-linewidth Ti:Sapphire Laser system for Ion trap based quantum computing (729 nm operation, PDH locking technique). Duration: Maximum 3 years. Level: RA-I/II/III.

Project 21 - Requirement: 2 RAs. Qualification: First RA: B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. in Electronics/Electronics and Telecommunication/Electronics and Computer Engineering; 1 year experience in high-speed digital and embedded systems design preferred. Project 23 - Requirement: 4 RAs (3 PhD in Chemistry, 1 PhD in Biosciences). Field of work: First RA (PhD Chemistry): R&D on radiochemical separation and purification of radioisotopes for medical applications. Second RA (PhD Chemistry): Synthesis and evaluation of cancer-specific peptides/molecules. Third RA (PhD Chemistry): Synthesis of radiolabeled functionalized nanoparticles for multi-modality cancer management. Project 24 - Requirement: 2 RAs. Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics in areas related to accelerator development or Experimental Nuclear Physics.
