Eligibility
The advertisement lists three eligibility conditions that must be met simultaneously:
Educational Qualification - Professional degree in Law (3-year regular course after graduation OR 5-year integrated regular course after 10+2). The candidate should be eligible to get enrolled as an Advocate to practise in courts in India.
Past Service - Retired Central or State Government employees in Pay Matrix Level-14 and above (as per 7th CPC), OR CPSE employees with pay scale equivalent to E-6 level and above (as per 3rd PRC).
Experience - Minimum 20 years of Executive experience of handling litigations related to Service matters, Civil matters, Arbitrations, etc. in any Central or State Government Ministry, Department or PSU.

Job Profile
The Advisor (Law) at RHQ, Western Region, will support the Department on the following:
Assist the Department in handling court cases and other matters requiring examination from a legal point of view.
Tender opinion on issues coming before the Department.
Prepare draft affidavits and provide other inputs in consultation with concerned sections and Divisions in cases where the Department is a respondent.
Vet draft affidavits prepared by Counsels for filing in various judicial and quasi-judicial forums in cases where the Department is a respondent.
Vet replies and comments prepared by various Departments.
Work closely with different Ministries, Departments and Divisions to provide a holistic opinion on legal matters.
Scrutinise legal papers, documents and affidavits received and offer comments.
Maintain contact with all enlisted Counsels to keep abreast of ongoing court cases.
Liaison with the Counsels.
Perform such other work of legal nature as entrusted from time to time.
Selection Process

No TA or DA is payable for attending the verification or interview, for joining the assignment, on its completion or during the engagement process.
Additional conditions for retired applicants:
Applicants should be clear from vigilance and disciplinary angle at the time of retirement.
There should be no criminal case pending against the applicant; this must be self-certified.

Important Instructions

Initial tenure is fixed at 11 months and is purely contractual.
AAI reserves the right to shortlist or reject candidature without assigning any reason.
AAI can terminate the contract at any time without reason; normal course is one month's notice from either side.
Other Terms and Conditions
Period of Engagement - Initial tenure of Advisors shall be for 11 months.
Medical Examination - The selected person must undergo a medical examination at own cost and submit a fitness certificate at joining.
Leave - Advisors are entitled to leave at 1.5 days per month without specific nomenclature (no CL / EL split). Accumulated leave cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year.
Integrity - Advisors must be of good character and integrity.
TA / DA for official work - For official work outside the prescribed place of posting, TA / DA is payable as per the entitlement at the time of retirement; no other allowance is admissible.
Foreign travel - In extreme work exigencies, the Advisor may be allowed to visit abroad with approval of the Chairman, AAI, with TA / DA at retirement entitlement.
Termination Notice - One month's notice from AAI or from the Advisor in normal course.
